FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Skill Set Outline

This Skillset of short courses is designed for jobseekers who want to gain food safety and customer service skills to provide service in tourism, travel, and hospitality roles. Successful completion of the Skillset will earn jobseekers their NSW Food Authority Food Safety Supervisor certificate, which is a legal requirement in NSW for all food service businesses.
In this course, you will gain and apply a broad range of skills and knowledge to communicate effectively with and provide quality service to customers, as well as becoming eligible to be a nominated Food Safety Supervisor, managing safe food handling, hazard identification and food contamination.

This course may be offered in a variety of formats:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You must be:

  • 15 years old or over
  • no longer at school
  • living or working in NSW
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

 

All students undertaking nationally recognised training need to have a USI (Unique Student Identifier) number. If you do not already have one, you can create your USI here. You will need to have a valid form of identification handy.

UNITS OF COMPETENCY

COMPLETION / CERTIFICATION

Students who successfully complete all units of competency within this program will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for each unit, and a NSW Food Authority Food Safety Supervisor certificate. These units can be used for recognition towards a full qualification in Hospitality.
