Course Overview

Anyone wishing to work on a construction site anywhere in Australia must first obtain a “White Card” by completing general construction induction training (GIT or GCIT). There is only one nationally recognised White Card (or GIT/GCIT) course: CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, and learners must complete the White Card Course of the State / Territory in which they will physically be located on the day of training. This is the NSW course, for learners who will be in NSW on the day they wish to undergo the training.

No matter which State or Territory’s course was completed, once obtained, a White Card can be used for working anywhere in Australia. The White Card course has jurisdictional restrictions; the White Card itself does not.
