Modes of Delivery 

• • Real-time connected delivery (virtual classroom)
    Learners attend an online class run on a videoconferencing platform (Microsoft Teams). All coursework, activities and assessments are completed during the class time.
  • Classes run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, including pre-class administration time and breaks.

To be eligible to enroll, learners must:  

1. Be at least 14 years of age
2. Bring original ID documents that meet requirements of SafeWork NSW (details below)
3. Have PPE items according to the requirements of SafeWork NSW (details below)

SafeWork NSW prohibits RTOs from allowing learners who do not meet these requirements into a class. Learners must be sure they have all correct documents and items of PPE prior to attending the course. On the morning of the class all learners must produce their documents and PPE for verification before they will be allowed to join the classroom.

SafeWork NSW ID Requirements

• • Provide 100 points of ID as evidence of identify. If you do not bring the required valid identification on the day, you will not be able to commence training, and no refund will be issued.
  • All ID must be original: certified copies are not acceptable.
    • Proof of identity – 100-point check

      
      Exceptions:

      • Overseas visitors arrived less than 6 weeks in Australia can use the following combination of documents as proof of ID:
        • Passport AND licence from country of nationality OR
        • Passport AND Bank Card (overseas or Australian) AND
        • Proof of your arrival date.
      • Australian high school students under 18 can use either one of the following documents as proof of ID:
      • Valid Australian passport, or
      • Australian birth certificate, or
      • School ID card (must have photo)

SafeWork NSW PPE Requirements

• • Access to the following items of PPE, which must meet Australian Standards indicated for each 

• • • Eye protection - AS1337.1 Personal eye protection Eye and face protectors for occupational applications 

• • • Hearing protection - AS/NZS 1270 Acoustics - Hearing protectors 

• • • Head protection (hard hat) - AS/NZS 1801 Occupational protective helmets 

• • • High visibility top- AS/NZS 4602.1 High visibility safety garments class day/night 

• • Learners who cannot produce all items of PPE as above will not be allowed into the class.
  • No refunds will be granted for learners who fail to bring the required items of PPE and / or original identification as detailed above. 

Other requirements:

• • All learners must undertake an online LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the program 

• • All learners must be at least 14 years of age (upon commencement of training)
