Course overview

The Diploma of Marketing and Communication allows learners to develop sound theory, knowledge and practical experience in marketing in order to progress career prospects in marketing and communication management.

Learners will gain expertise in communication methods, marketing principles & concepts, public relations, digital & social media plus leadership. Students will undertake industry relevant projects providing them with exposure to working in the marketing and communication fields.

Entry requirements

To be eligible to enrol into this course, learner must:

  • be 18 years old or older

  • have completed 5 core units of BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication

  • ensure the stable network connection through any type of devices including PCs, laptops, tablet PCs and smartphones (apply for distance learners)

  • Upon acceptance of your enrolment, you will be required to complete the electronic Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.

Duration

Maximum study duration of 12 months.

Assessment methods

Summative assessments may include written/oral questions, practical/observational assessments, and project works with discussion

Mode of delivery

  • Face to Face learning: traditional classroom-based learning at the designated training location.

  • (Location: L5, 12-14 O’Connell St, Sydney NSW 2000).

  • Distance/online learning: digital classroom based that includes self-directed learning.

Course structure

There are 12 units of competency to complete; 3 core and 9 elective units.

Completion/Certification

Students who successfully complete all 12 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with BSB52415 Diploma of Marketing and Communication. Students who successfully complete some units of competency will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited unit(s) in which they have been deemed competent.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
