Marketing and Communication Courses

About courses

Marketing is more than a concentration within a business operation. More accurately, it describes a collection of skills that are useful in any career.

As a professional discipline, marketing is a vital function of any business’ operation. It explores customer perceptions and journeys as primary sources of profit. It also utilises various data to make smart and insightful business decisions.

On a broader scale, marketing skills exceed the business world and are used in many careers. Even outside of a traditional marketing role, people benefit from knowing the fundamental values that connect people, brands, and businesses.

Career opportunities

A career in marketing appeals to a wide variety of people because the job roles within the sector are so varied – there’s something for everyone. Graduates can use their qualifications to progress into careers in marketing, communications, sales, PR, advertising, consultancy, management and much more. Additionally, thy will have the core business skills to pursue careers outside of marketing should they wish to.

Marketing roles tend to fall into two categories; in-house marketing roles, where graduates will be based within an organisation and work solely on marketing projects for that company, or agency roles where they will work on different projects for a portfolio of clients. Graduates can choose to specialise in one area, such as market research, social media and direct marketing, or pursue more general roles where they work across the whole marketing field.
