CERTIFICATE III IN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible to enrol, learner must:
be 18 years old or older
obtain a police check
have an ability to complete work placement
undertake an online LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the program
have access to the reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer with camera access for Zoom (or other video call technology) interaction
have access to the reliable internet connection
have access to the word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite
Assessment Methods
Summative assessments may include written/oral questions, practical/observational assessments, and project works with discussion
Additional Requirements - Work Placement
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

A total of 13 units must be completed comprising 7 core and 6 electives.

Completion / Certification
Learners who successfully completed all units of competency and 120 hours (3 week equivalent full-time) work placement with documentary evidence from the residential care centres approved by Brighten Institute Australia will be issued with a nationally recognised Certificate.
This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
