Course overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have frontline management accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

Entry requirements

  • Students must have completed a minimum of Year 12 or equivalent.

  • Students must undertake and complete an online Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to the commencement of the program.

  • Students must have access to the following:

    • Reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer

    • Reliable internet connection

    • Word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite

    • Computer device with camera access for Zoom (or other video call technology) interaction

Duration

The course is scheduled to run for 12 months.

Assessment methods

Summative assessments may include written/oral questions, practical/observational assessments, and project works with discussion

Mode of delivery

  • This program is delivered online with regular zoom sessions.

  • Learners can undertake this program in their home or work environment. On the job is encouraged where possible.

Course structure

There are 8 units of competency to complete in this qualification.

Completion/Certification

Students that successfully complete all 8 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with BSB50120 Diploma of business. Students who successfully complete some units of competency will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited unit(s) in which they have been deemed competent.

This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
