RSA - SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol - NSW

This course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to practice responsible sale, service, or supply of alcohol. All staff of licensed premises in Australia who serve / supply / sell alcohol must have completed this nationally recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) unit of competency.

Completing the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is a mandatory requirement for selling or serving alcohol within a licensed venue throughout New South Wales (NSW).

Learn how to responsibly sell and serve alcohol, explore ways to assist customers to drink within appropriate limits, recognise and respect the laws regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol and develop the skills required to refuse the sale or service of alcohol.

RGS (RCG) - SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services

This course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to responsibly provide gambling services and aid in the prevention of harm caused by problem gambling. All staff of licensed premises in Australia that have gaming machines and provides gambling services are required to complete this nationally recognised unit of competency.

This RCG course is valid for work in New South Wales (NSW)*.

*Some jurisdictions have additional licensing requirements, including the completion of additional courses / bridging courses: see website of relevant regulatory authority in the jurisdiction in which employment will take place.

SITSS00068 Food Handling - nsw

This nationally accredited course (SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety) provides the knowledge and skills to work safely with food. In Australia, food safety training is mandatory for all roles involving the handling of food items; completion of this course enables learners to meet all mandatory training requirements.

Course Information

Course Duration:
This course takes can be completed in the span of two days however, learners will have up to 3 months to complete the course. Please see T&Cs for details of course completion and course access expiry.

Mode of Delivery: This course is delivered 100% online. Learners may complete the course at their own pace, engaging with the content when they like and for as long as they choose. The course progress is saved, allowing learners to pause and return to their learning without losing any work.

Units of Competency: To successfully accomplish this program, students must complete: ‘SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol’, ‘SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services’ and 'SITSS00068 Food Handling'.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for the qualification, however, you must have:

- USI (Unique Student Identifier) number
- A valid and current email address
- Completed a LLN assessment (Language, Literacy & Numeracy test)
- Have access to a reliable PC, laptop or tablet computer
- Access to a reliable internet connection and word processing software such as Microsoft Office suite.

You must not be a permanent resident of NSW or VIC, or if you are, your period of permanent residency must be less than five years.

These units of competency are recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Renewal (RSA):

Statements of Attainment issued for completion of nationally recognised training do not expire. However, some state / territory industry regulatory bodies may require RSA training to be renewed/refreshed after 3 – 5 years; please check the website of the liquor regulator in your State / Territory.

Renewal (RCG): An RCG Competency Card is valid for 5 years and can be renewed for another 5 years by completing online refresher training (received via a reminder notice) before the expiry date.
